Our trauma-informed, culturally aware therapists help you explore patterns, heal emotional wounds, and build a relationship rooted in mutual respect, empathy, and understanding.

Mother-Daughter Relationship Therapy for BIPOC Families

Are you feeling distant, emotionally drained, or stuck in old patterns with your mother or daughter?

Mother-daughter relationships are powerful—but not always easy. They often carry layers of cultural expectations, unspoken sacrifices, and generational differences that create tension and hurt.

At Intentional Therapy, we specialize in supporting BIPOC women and girls through the complexities of family dynamics, identity, and emotional healing.

Whether you're a daughter who struggles with guilt or a mother navigating boundaries, our therapists offer a space to rebuild trust, repair communication, and move toward mutual respect.

Through culturally-informed, relational therapy, we help you explore inherited patterns and empower you to create a new, healthier chapter in your relationship.

You don’t have to carry the emotional weight alone. Therapy can help both of you feel heard, seen, and reconnected in a way that honors your values and individual growth.

Our Team
At Intentional Therapy PLLC, we specialize in providing culturally-attuned, non-traditional therapy for BIPOC individuals, particularly those from South and East Asian backgrounds. Founded in March 2021 by Parthi B. Patel, a first-generation South Asian American, our practice understands the unique challenges faced by first- and second-generation individuals, such as bi-cultural identity struggles and intergenerational trauma.

"We’ve created a space where you don’t have to explain your culture—our therapists ‘just get it,’ because we’ve lived it."

We have since expanded our practice to include other mental health professionals. Each of our therapists has unique areas of specialization and expertise, allowing us to collaborate and provide a range of care to individuals, couples, families, and organizations.
