Healing from Intergenerational Pressure & Cultural Guilt

Do You Find Yourself Thinking:

  • I feel responsible for my family's happiness, but what about my own?
  • I can't talk about my struggles because my family sacrificed so much for me.
  • I'm torn between who I am and who my family wants me to be.
  • Why am I repeating the same patterns, even though I want to break free?

Imagine Feeling Free To:

  • Create healthy boundaries without guilt
  • Heal from emotional wounds passed down through generations
  • Understand and release patterns that no longer serve you
  • Embrace your cultural roots while honoring your personal identity
  • Make peace with your family while prioritizing your well-being
You don't have to choose between your identity and your family.
Our culturally attuned therapy helps you break cycles, build boundaries, and find peace—on your own terms.

The cultural expectations, family pressures, and unspoken pain that often pass from one generation to the next can leave us feeling misunderstood, unseen, and trapped in cycles of guilt or shame.

You're struggling with balancing cultural identities or the pressures of meeting your family's expectations.

Here, you won't have to explain your background—we get it.

Our 'non-traditional therapy' approach acknowledges that traditional therapy often misses the cultural nuances and family dynamics we face.

Our Team
At Intentional Therapy PLLC, we specialize in culturally-attuned, non-traditional therapy for BIPOC individuals, particularly those from South and East Asian backgrounds. Founded in March 2021 by Parthi B. Patel, a first-generation South Asian American, our practice understands challenges like bi-cultural identity struggles and intergenerational trauma. "We’ve created a space where you don’t have to explain your culture—our therapists ‘just get it,’ because we’ve lived it." We have since expanded to include other mental health professionals, each with unique areas of specialization, allowing collaboration for individuals, couples, families, and organizations.
