Frequently Asked Questions

ANSWERS TO YOUR

Do you have an office?
We are exclusively a virtual practice. We use TherapyAppointment for HIPAA-compliant telehealth services.
How does Intentional Therapy ensure that therapy feels personal and tailored to me?
We prioritize quality over quantity. Our clinicians maintain a small caseload, usually between 25 to 30 clients, to ensure each session is deeply personalized. This allows our therapists to develop a genuine, ongoing relationship with each client, where you feel truly understood, remembered, and supported.
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are typically 53 minutes. Couples, family, or intake sessions may be 75 minutes.
How often do we meet?
Typically once per week. You and your therapist can adjust based on your needs and progress.
What if I’m running late for my appointment?
We have a 15-minute grace period. After that, a late cancellation fee will be charged.
Do you take insurance?
Yes! Our fully licensed therapists accept BCBS, Oscar, Oxford, United Health, Aetna, Magellan and Cigna.
Do you require a credit card on file?
Yes. We require one to secure your time and ensure therapist compensation for missed sessions.
Which states do you practice in?
We are licensed in Texas and some of our clinicians are also licensed in Florida.
How long will I be in treatment?
Length depends on your goals. Some clients attend 3–5 sessions; others benefit from longer-term support.
What should I expect at our first meeting(s)?
The first few meetings will help determine fit and treatment goals. If needed, we’ll provide referrals.
What is an LPC Associate?
An LPC Associate has completed graduate education and is working under supervision to gain experience.
Will my parents find out if I start therapy?
If you are 18+, therapy is confidential. Out-of-pocket payments offer the most privacy. Insurance may show charges on the policyholder's statement.

- Your Big Sis by Sonya Patel
