My Therapeutic Style & Approach
Tired of explaining what it's like to disappoint your family by simply being yourself? Exhausted from code-switching and performing the "good" child role while dying inside? You've found the right therapist.
As a Southeast Asian therapist, I get the invisible weight you carry—the cultural guilt that shows up when you set boundaries, the shame of not being "Asian enough" or "American enough," the exhaustion of living between two worlds. I work with BIPOC young adults, teens, and neurodivergent folks who are done pretending and ready to figure out who they actually are.
Here's how we work together: You show up as you are—messy, confused, angry, whatever. We'll tackle the practical stuff when you need it: managing anxiety spirals, handling family conflict without imploding, building boundaries that don't destroy relationships. But we'll also dig into the deeper questions: Who are you when you're not performing? What do YOU want, not what everyone expects? How do you honor your culture while still choosing yourself?
"You don't need to choose between your family and yourself—we'll find a path forward that honors both."
What makes working with me different? You won't waste sessions explaining why your parents' silent disappointment cuts deeper than yelling, or why you can't "just talk to them" about boundaries. I speak Vietnamese, understand the cultural context, and won't pathologize your family dynamics. For my neurodivergent clients, your brain works differently—not wrong. We'll build strategies that actually fit how you function, not how you "should" function.
Starting therapy doesn't mean you've failed or betrayed your family. It means you're brave enough to stop shrinking yourself. Whether you're navigating identity, untangling generational expectations, or learning to advocate for your needs, I'm here—no judgment, just real understanding and a path forward.
