My Therapeutic Style & Approach

Do you feel stuck in the same patterns—overthinking, self-criticism, or emotional heaviness—and unsure how to move forward? If you’re longing for space to make sense of your experiences and feel more grounded, you’re in the right place.

As a Korean American therapist, I understand the complexity of navigating identity, cultural expectations, and family dynamics—especially within immigrant and minority communities. Many of my clients come in carrying anxiety, trauma, OCD, or depression while also trying to hold together relationships, transitions, and responsibilities. Therapy with me is a space where your culture is honored, not questioned or changed.

My work is rooted in narrative therapy, which means we explore the stories you’ve been told—and the ones you tell yourself—about who you are and what you’ve been through. Some sessions focus on processing difficult emotions or working through trauma. Other times, we look closely at thoughts, patterns, and perceptions that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we work toward creating new, more compassionate ways of understanding yourself and your life.

"You are the author of your story. Therapy is a space to pause, reflect, and gently rewrite the parts that no longer serve you."

What makes working with me different? I approach therapy with cultural humility and flexibility. I won’t pathologize your family, minimize racial or cultural stress, or push change that doesn’t align with your values. Instead, we honor your lived experience while navigating the parts of your culture, identity, or story that feel challenging.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to start. Whether you’re processing trauma, navigating anxiety or OCD, facing a major life transition, or simply feeling lost in your own story, therapy can be a place to slow down and reconnect. You don’t have to do this alone—I’m here to help you find clarity, resilience, and meaning at your own pace.
