Supervisory Frequently Asked Questions

ANSWERS TO YOUR

Who do you supervise?

I offer supervision for LPC Associates in Texas who are seeking a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and growth-oriented supervisor. I especially enjoy working with associates who are BIPOC, high-achieving women, first-gen professionals, and those interested in private practice or bicultural identity-based work.

What makes your supervision style unique?

I offer a balance of clinical guidance and personal mentorship. My supervision approach is:

  • Culturally affirming

  • Trauma-informed

  • Identity-conscious

  • Private-practice friendly

Expect a supportive space where you’ll grow as both a clinician and a whole person.

What if I need emergency consultation between sessions?

You’ll have access to me via secure communication channels for time-sensitive clinical consultation or support when needed. I value open communication and responsiveness, especially when ethical or safety concerns arise.

Can I work at Intentional Therapy as an LPC Associate and receive supervision?

Yes! If you join Intentional Therapy as a clinician, you can receive supervision directly from Parthi B. Patel, LPC-S. This is a great option if you're looking for a supportive team environment and aligned clinical values, including culturally informed, identity-affirming care.

How often do we meet?

Typically, sessions occur once per week. You and your therapist may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of visits depending on progress and need.

Can I work at another practice or agency and still receive supervision through Intentional Therapy?

Yes. You do not have to be employed by Intentional Therapy to receive supervision. LPC Associates can work in a variety of settings (private practice, nonprofit, group practice, school, etc.) and still receive their required supervision hours through us, as long as all arrangements are compliant with the Texas LPC Board.

Which states do you supervise in?

Texas only.

Do I need to have clients before starting supervision?

No, you can begin supervision before you’ve started seeing clients. In fact, it’s recommended so we can work on onboarding, policies, documentation, and confidence-building before your caseload grows.

How often will we meet?

The Texas LPC Board requires a minimum of 4 supervision hours per month. We typically meet:

  • Weekly for individual supervision when caseloads are higher

  • Alternating individual/group sessions, depending on need

Start with a free 20-minute virtual consultation so we can make sure we’re a good fit. From there:

Individual Supervision: $90 per 60-minute session

Group Supervision: $45 per 90-minute session (2+ associates)

You’ll receive structured clinical guidance, real-time support, and access to professional resources — all within a consistent, empowering container.

Can you help me with building my private practice?

Yes! While not required, I offer optional guidance for associates interested in future private practice work. This includes support with marketing, branding, niche discovery, and business planning — all from someone who actively runs a group practice.

Do you offer a supervision contract?

Yes. We’ll review and sign a supervision agreement before beginning. This outlines expectations, boundaries, fees, and LPC Board requirements to ensure mutual understanding and transparency.
